The Verde set gives you three sizes of pressed bamboo board (15, 12, and 9 inches) so vegetables, raw meat, and finished dishes can each get their own surface without hunting for storage space. Bamboo is technically a grass rather than a wood, and it grows to harvest in about five years versus decades for hardwood, which is why we can offer three boards at this price without pushing the whole line up-market. Each board is cross-laminated for warp resistance and finished with a food-safe, water-based sealant rather than oil, so it holds up better than raw bamboo against daily washing. Built-in handle cutouts make the boards easy to lift and hang, and the smallest size doubles as a serving board for cheese or charcuterie. Bamboo is harder than most hardwoods, which is good for board longevity but means it's slightly tougher on blade edges over time, so we recommend it as a secondary board alongside a wood or composite one for your primary chef's knife work.
